Yesterday was 2nd wrking day in 4th sem..I got the taste of internet in the year 1998 at my hometown birgunj.I was studying in 4 std then.At my place only the dialup-facilities existed. As of now ISPs are offering Cable and Broadband Internet at very higher prices with some terms and conditions(like you need to use the broadband throughout the year).Hell...Aneways I started connecting to dialup network in the late nineteen ninetees and exploring them.Later on I had a doubt that why the ISPs don't increase their bandwidth from 36.6 Kbps..its too small isn't it?Later on local ISPs at my place came up with VSAT technology and Hence bandwidth was increased from 36.6->52 Kbps..Still i was wondering ...If the speed was increased a bit more..Never satisfied!! y dont they do so!!nd why there exists a difference in broadband and dialup networks. And the mystery was never solved.
And yesterday,I enquired 1 of my profs about the constraints involve and problems faced.I started with a query about the power of PSTN lines. He stated:the power of PSTN lines is about 40 V.and cleared a Myth in me ,' That speed is dependent on power'.He stated both are independent and has different stand.Later on He explained that speed is dependent on Bandwidth supplied. In PSTN lines , bandwidth is allocated for all the incoming and outgoing voice calls .Government has allocated a specific bandwidth for the Dial -up ISPs so that voice calls are not affected. And 2day there is an Argument for Bandwidth allocation between various ISPs specially in developing nations & underdeveloped ones. The power of the PSTN lines hardly matters if we compare the speed. To overcome this problem of limited bandwidth supply ISP has moved towards Broadband(A dedicated Bandwidth channel) available from 128 Kbps to 2 Mbps and more. Thanks to my dear Professor for clearing this doubt ,which was scratching my brain from past few years. That's why people call ........IIIrd world war will be the war for Energy !!Thanks for reading calmly...Suggestions and comments are always welcome..
